Two Killer iOS Jailbreak Apps that Will Make You More Productive

FolderEnhancer Intro CollageWith the recent release of the Evasi0n jailbreak for iOS, I have been looking for apps that will make my iPhone even more powerful and useful as a productivity tool. I found two awesome apps that you should add to your jailbroken iPhone right away.

The Two Apps

MultiIconMover

I briefly mentioned MultiIconMover in my How to Jailbreak your iPhone post. It basically lets you select multiple apps at the same time and move them to a different page. One of the awesome things I discovered with this app is that the apps you're moving don't need to be on the same page. For instance, you can select an app on one page, select an app on a different page and move them to a third page by pressing the home button. Awesome.

Apps are selected by invoking the iOS jiggle, pressing and holding an app until all of the apps and folders start shaking. Then it's just a matter of tapping the apps you want to select. A check box will appear on each app you choose. Once you've selected all the apps you want to move, you just navigate to the page or folder where you want them to reside and press the home button. Done. Couldn't get any easier.

FolderEnhancer

FolderEnhancer by Ashikase allows you to place an unlimited number of apps in a single folder as well as placing folders within folders. For example, you could create a master games folder and then create sub folders for the different types of game. Another benefit to FolderEnhancer is how quickly folders open. They open a lot quicker than the default iOS folders, which is amazing. If you wanted to, you could also create a folder on your iDevice's dock, providing ready access to frequently used apps. You can also set the option of having folders work as pages, where you swipe from left to right, or as an infinitely scrolling option. The choice is a matter of preference.

Using them Together

Both of these apps play nicely together. You can move apps from outside of folders using the MultiIconMover technique of selecting apps, navigating inside the target folder, and then tapping the home button.

I don't know about you, but moving tons of apps is not my idea of a good time. However, using both of these apps together, saves me a ton of time organizing my extensive app collection. Time is money and anything I can do to improve my productivity is greatly appreciated.

Jailbreaking is not for everyone and has risks. However, if you want to be even modestly more productive, and you have jailbroken your iPhone or iPad, I really recommend these two apps.

Both apps are available in Cydia.
