A List of 6 Useful Evernote Resources

Evernote Desktop Client Screen CaptureEvernote is a powerful program with many different uses. But let’s say you want to get even more out of the program and really maximize your effectiveness using it. Below are some great resources that will help you learn Evernote and unlock its full potential.

Going Paperless

Jamie Todd Rubin, who is a Science Fiction writer, is also the Evernote Ambassador for Going Paperless. There are lots of benefits to going paperless and he details many of the reasons as well as how to embrace a paperless lifestyle. You’re going to need Evernote and a quality scanner such as the Fujitsu ScanSnap iX500 Scanner. It’s also helpful to have a mobile smartphone such as an iPhone or an Android device. You can see Jamie’s collection of living the Paperless Lifestyle here: Going Paperless

Getting Up To Speed Quick

Evernote has a ton of features and there are plenty of guides available to help you get up to speed. However, the best guide available, at least in my humble opinion, is Brett Kelly’s Evernote Essentials. In his 150+ page guide, Brett offers a variety of tips and tricks that will help you learn Evernote. The guide covers all platforms and delves into unleashing the full potential of Evernote. Don’t let the 150+ pages discourage you. The book is a very quick read and will have you capturing and organizing volumes of notes in no time. It will save you a lot of time getting up to speed. Highly recommended.

Apps and Tools that Work with Evernote

There are many apps and services that have built-in functionality with Evernote. One of the best resources for finding these apps and services is the Evernote Trunk. The Trunk offers a collection of guides for a wide variety of resources (apps, services, and instruction) that enhance the Evernote experience. If you have some time and want to explore The Trunk, I really recommend it. I have found some pretty awesome apps and services that function wonderfully on their own, but also enhance my own Evernote experience.
