So a guy holding a cardboard sign on a street corner referred you to a website, and here you are.
I’m not just another guy looking for a handout. I’m looking for a job!
My name is Jarrod and have over 10 years of marketing experience. My wife and I just moved to the Boise, ID area from Maryland in order to be closer to family. As my sign said, I’m under-employed working for a really big company as a customer service associate. It’s great experience, but unfortunately it won’t be enough to support my family once baby comes. And the other bad news is that the position is seasonal, so I may be out of work sooner rather than later which is unfortunate.
And my sign also said that I’m a soon-to-be dad. Yep! I’m very excited about becoming a father, but I need to be able to support my family.
Over Ten Years of Marketing Experience
I have an undergraduate in Graphic Design and a MBA in Marketing. I have worked for many different organizations across a variety of industries. I’m very adaptable, a quick-study, and excited about the work I do. I am a dedicated professional who values integrity and appreciates challenging work. Here are some of my career highlights:
- Generated $1.2 Million in sales on a $55,000 media buy
- Successfully increased showroom traffic by 20% for one of my employers
- Turned an annual golf tournament from a negative expense into a revenue-generating endeavor
- Reached #18 in sales for my region, which equated to being in the top 10% of all sales associates
- Saved a non-profit $60,000+ per year in website hosting and maintenance by negotiating new terms
What I can do for you?
In a phrase: All things marketing. Need help with a social media campaign? I’m on it. How about developing a marketing strategy for your business? Absolutely. What about reigning in your business’ marketing expenses? Done. Creating search engine optimized content for your blog or online presence? Right-o! Planning a large event for customers/clients? That’s right up my alley.
As a marketing pro, I’ve worn many different hats and understand that there’s not a “one-size-fits-all” approach to marketing. I pride myself on learning and understanding your business and industry and making recommendations that support your unique goals. Neat, huh? Of course, I can do a lot more. Take a look.
How can you help?
By helping me get a job of course! You no doubt know someone who needs marketing help with their business. Or maybe the business does marketing for other businesses? It doesn’t matter. I’m looking for a career with an organization that I can establish roots at and be part of its success for many years to come.
Of course, I also do freelance marketing consulting too, but would prefer the security of a steady income.
If you’re not hiring or don’t know anyone who is, but still want to help me out, I do have another modest way you can assist.
As I said earlier, I’m not looking for a handout. But if you visit my personal web site and have enjoyed some of the content I have posted and would like to buy something on Amazon, I’ll receive a modest commission for referring your business. There’s no obligation or expectation to do anything, but know that I would appreciate the click.
But don’t take my word for it:
“Jarrod’s “can do” attitude is infectious. Any company would be extremely lucky to have Jarrod as a part of their team.” -Carmel
“He is creative and innovative – always thinking of new ways to drive traffic and boost sales. He is hard-working, dedicated and our team benefitted from his technical knowledge – especially as it pertained to online marketing.” -Dina
“Jarrod is a pleasure to work with. It’s nice to have confidence in a person that gets things done.” -Sal
“Jarrod was a pleasure to work with, his dedication and work ethic is exemplary.” -Georgia
Why the sign?
Well, to be honest, I thought it might be a novel way to get the word out that I’m looking for full-time employment. I’ve seen lots of people asking for monetary help with a cardboard sign, so why not ask for career help with one?
I have also sent out lots of resumes and haven’t had a lot of luck in this competitive job market. I’m hoping this idea works! If nothing else, it’s helping to grow my network!
I really appreciate you taking the time to visit. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments. Thank you in advance for your help! I’m excited to get to work!
