Whether you want to admit it or not, social media is here to stay. Initially dismissed by many as just a fad, the practice is becoming more mainstream as more people and companies are starting to embrace it as part of their day.

People use it to connect with likeminded folks, to research things, explore their passions, ask questions, and keep friends/family updated with their lives. Companies are using social media as part of their marketing toolbox, connecting with customers, sharing valuable content, and giving a voice to the usually perceived cold and uncaring corporate behemoth.

Using social media isn't rocket science, but as with anything, there are Do's and Don'ts with using it. Below is a brief list of social media do's and don'ts for individuals in no particular order.

Evernote recently introduced the ability to add reminders to your notes. Lots of people I know will be using this feature to keep track of their to do lists and other tasks. But there are also other ways you can make use of the new reminders function in Evernote. One new method that I'm going to discuss is by using the reminders feature to create a system that allows you to manage your groceries and know when they're supposed to expire. Read on for more.

Using Evernote as an Always Up-to-Date Gift Registry

Using Evernote as a Gift List Unfortunately for me, my birthday and the Christmas holiday are within a week of one another. Every year around the same time, usually a week or two before Thanksgiving, I get the same request from members of family, “Can you send me what you want for your birthday / Christmas list?”

I used to send them a blanket email with some items that were copied and pasted from my Amazon wish list, which wasn't exactly a great way  of managing what I wanted. I mean, what's to keep different family members from buying the same thing? At least if they bought it directly off the Amazon wish list, the item would be marked as purchased.

I finally got smart and created a perpetual gift list registry using Evernote. Below I'll explain how it works and how to set it up.
